1000 metres above sea level is an independent publication launched in January 2026 by Malcolm Jacobson.

After a lifetime of living in the sea-level city of Brisbane, in the state of Queensland, Australia, I moved to the Northern Tablelands region of New South Wales in December 2024.

The site documents my experiences, thoughts and discoveries about life in the Northern Tablelands. It's about life in the country, through the eyes of a city boy.
